Hitting The Trails Again
I finally hit the mountain bike trails again today! I rode only a couple times last spring as I was a bit leery of the punishment of the trails after I had just fully recovered from a broken collar bone late in the previous fall. It was good to ride hard again and I realized how much I missed it last year.
I’m not a leisurely mountain biker. I ride as hard and fast as the terrain allows, to get the best workout possible. It’s not always the easiest goal to keep if the trails are busy and there is no place to pass slower riders. Today was about the most perfect weather day here. 72 and sunny, low humidity. To my surprise, there were not that many people out riding at almost 1 pm. I did better than I expected for my first ride of the season one of my normal routes on the Des Plaines River Trail. Hopefully the hot weather will be limited this summer because rides on those days can be brutal.

Ha! No it’s not me in the picture, just some random picture that I found. I do have a shiny and colorful helmet though! :)
