Bear Down! Chicago Bears are Super Bowl Bound!

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

2006-2007 NFC Championship trophyDAAAAAAAAAA BEARRRRSSSSSS ARE NFC CHAMPIONS!!!!!!! LOOK OUT SUPER BOWL XLI HERE COMES THE CHICAGO BEARS!!!!!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!

If you couldn’t tell I’m ecstatic that Bears are headed to the Super Bowl! As a life long Bears fan, it’s been a long 21 years since the days of the ‘85-’86 Bears championship season. Today the Bears won 39-14 as the snow was falling in a game that could have been an even bigger blowout.

The Bears defense showed up big time and dominated all game. And yes the offense was great pounding the ball with Cedric Benson and Thomas Jones on the ground and great play by Rex Grossman and Bernard Berrian in the 2nd half. The Bears played a great game all around, with only one penalty for five yards and ZERO turnovers.

To the plethora of national media, ESPN, and even local media that picked the Saints to win this game saying the Bears didn’t have a chance, it seems you all missed the mark, BIG TIME! So much the hype of the Saints being a “team of destiny” or a “feel good” story and their so-called “unstoppable” offense. One request to all of those so-called “experts”, please pick against the Bears one more time in the Super Bowl. Its great bulletin board material for the team and will again prove how little you all know.

For your listening enjoyment the Chicago Bears Fight Song here.

Lyrics:

“Bear down, Chicago Bears, make every play clear the way to victory;
Bear down, Chicago Bears, put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!
We’ll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T-formation!
Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you’re wearing the crown!
You’re the pride and joy of Illinois, Chicago Bears, bear down!”

One more game to go… GO BEARS!!!

Apple iPhone Exists!

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Apple iPhoneYesterday Apple, Inc. announced the creation of iPhone. As a user of an Apple Mac desktop and laptop of course this interests me, however this device can sync with Mac’s and PC’s alike (though if you have a PC you should really get a Mac!).

Really this interests me more because I was hoping there was truth to the rumor that Apple was creating a cell phone device. Why? Well personally I just wanted a cell phone that was as easy to sync my data on my computer as an iPod, function like an iPod and also be able to handle email and web data. Really there isn’t a cellphone out there that sync’s seamlessly and I knew if any company could make such a device and take a cell phone to the next level it was Apple.

Well the rumors were wrong. What I mean by that is they predicted Apple was coming out with all these seperate devices: a phone, a widescreen/touchscreen video iPod, and a mini tablet-like wi-fi computer, etc. Instead Apple created ONE device with all of that and more! The iPhone exceeded even the most believable rumors and that takes a lot!

This is Apple’s quick abstract of the iPhone:

iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.

To see much more about its functions go to Apple’s iPhone demo page. Also watch Steve Jobs introduce and demonstrate the iPhone at his MacWorld Expo keynote. The intro video is worth it to see how amazing this device seems to be.

When Steve Jobs gives keynote addresses to announce new products, usually several different products are offered. This was much different. Besides the AppleTV device, the entire keynote was about the iPhone. And it makes sense, since this product would have been all of the talk afterward anyway.

I don’t think Apple will in one swoop, knock Nokia, Motorola, Palm and RIM out of the power user cell market however I do think it challenges them to come up with something better. As of now Apple just made the Treo and Blackberry look and function like something from a few years ago.

Unfortunately the iPhone won’t ship until June. The reason for the lag makes sense since all cell phones must be approved by the FCC and that takes a couple months of very public documentation. Apple didn’t want the FCC to be doing the announcing for them so they unveiled it now.

Only 6 months left for my ol’ clunky Motorola RAZR cellphone!

Will It Blend?

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

I’m not the first to find this series of videos but I had to share it. This is a great site where they “blend” various objects not meant to be blended.

Items such as a golf club, hockey pucks, cellphones, a garden rake, an iPod, golf balls, marbles, and various other things. Who would have thought this would be entertaining, but it is!

Mind you its essentially an ad for this blender used in smoothie shops, however it is incredible to see objects like the iPod below get chopped into small bits. Kids don’t try this at home!
