March Madness Is Better Than Ever

George Mason - Final Four!Sorry for not posting recently, I need to get back at it.

In my opinion, the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament aka March Madness is the best sporting event in the U.S.

Yes, I know the Super Bowl is the most watched and the World Series is up there too (not to mention my favorite sports), however those events and the playoffs leading into them are much smaller and more predictable. In addition those events can lack exciting games and/or series quite often.

The NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament on the other hand always delivers big upsets, close games and buzzer beaters. Not to mention the fact that one loss means the team is out of the tournament. This year is no exception!

It’s hard to top an 11 seed George Mason’s historic run to the Final Four by beating basketball powers Michigan State, North Carolina, and UConn. And they weren’t just fluke wins, George Mason beat these teams due to their coaching, talent and team play.

We’ll see how George Mason does at the Final Four this weekend. The fact that they have come this far by playing well, does not mean they cannot beat Florida and LSU or UCLA. It’s not likely, but since my brackets are trash now, I’m rooting for GMU!

Snoozing Justice

Sleeping JusticeSupreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg felt like taking a 15 minute “cat nap” during a hearing today. I wonder if she had a pillow to make it a little more comfortable for her to sleep in our highest court. The picture on the left depicts this funny scene.

It seems highly technical matters of political redistricting in Texas do not interest her. It wouldn’t interest me much either, but it’s her job to be interested because of the importance of her position. Not to mention the importance of her ruling.

Just a thought for the Justice: Drink more coffee and maybe a Red Bull or two.
